Keratoacanthoma in the lower lip. Keratoacanthoma in the lower lip. Keratoacanthoma is a rapidly growing benign tumour. Differential diagnosis with squamous cell carcinoma may be difficult. Rapid growth, and central heavy keratinous growth surrounded by an epithelial rim are characteristics favouring the diagnosis of keratoacanthoma.
