The Continuous Suture

The continuous suture. A continuous suture is quick to do and suitable for closing long wounds, using either a locked (as in the picture) or unlocked technique. It cannot be used as the sole suture if there is tension on the wound or the wound edges differ in length. A continuous suture is best used together with absorbable intracutaneous suture once the wound has already been nearly closed with such suture.
