Neurodermatitis on the back of the neck. Neurodermatitis is usually manifested as a single itchy ill-defined patch. Favourite locations include the back of the neck, the ankle and the leg. Rubbing of the itchy skin maintains the eczema which gradually becomes thickened or lichenified and gets a glossy surface. At this stage the lesion may resemble hypertrophic lichen ruber planus or even psoriasis. However, the skin elsewhere is unaffected.
