Atopic dermatitis in the ankle region of an infant.In a small child, characteristic location of atopic dermatitis is on the anterior surface of the ankle. In more severe eczema, dermatitis may lead to ulcer of the skin on the flexural site. This is no reason to avoid the use of corticosteroids but its indication.
