Osteosarcoma in the left humerus. An 8-year-old girl with a history of good general health. For a few months the child has felt vague symptoms from her left shoulder. Plain x-ray shows prominent loss of bone around the glenoid cavity and also in the acromion. An extensive destructive bony change with soft tissue calcifications is seen in the proximal end of the humerus, centered around the metaphysis. An active Codman's triangle is seen laterally. There is bone loss around the epiphysis. The treatment consisted of removal of the upper part of the humerus, bone grafting and cytotoxic chemotherapy.
