Lachman Test

Lachman test. The Lachman test is the most reliable test for showing an anterior cruciate ligament tear. With the patient supine and the knee in about 30 degrees flexion, use your right hand (for the left knee) to press the femur backward while pulling the tibia anteriorly with your left hand. The anterior cruciate ligament is torn if the test shows clear asymmetry between the knees.
