Trocantheric Hip Fracture
Trocantheric hip fracture (PA radiograph without markers).
An elderly person got up in the early hours to feed the cat and fell on the left side. On admission, the left hip was painful and there was shortening and external rotation of the left lower limb.

A plain x-ray of the pelvis reveals a trochanteric fracture of the left femur (thick arrows). Calcification of the arterial tree is also clearly visible in the image (thin arrows).
