Benign Acral Pigmented Naevus

Benign acral pigmented naevus. Dermatoscopic image. Pigment can be seen in a parallel furrow pattern. Furrows can be distinguished by white follicular openings (arrows) situated on the ridges, and furrows are often narrower. In acral melanoma, on the other hand, pigmentation can often be seen in a parallel ridge pattern. Even if there is pigment in furrows, the lesion must be removed if it shows signs of malignancy, such as blue-white veil, areas of regression or dark areas with no discernible pigment structure.
