Secondary Osteoarthritis of the Knee Following Meniscectomy
A radiologically diagnosed osteoarthritis may be 14 times more common in patients who have undergone meniscectomy than in matched controls. Level of evidence: "C"Roos et al 1 examined knee radiographs of 123 patients who had undergone open meniscectomy 21 years earlier. There were more degerative changes as compared to matched controls.
