Fixed Drug Eruption

Fixed drug eruption. Fixed drug eruption (Erythema fixum) is a peculiar allergic reaction caused by a systemic drug. NSAIDs and antimicrobial drugs are the most common causes. About 5-6 hours after taking the drug, the reaction appears always at the same location and, after resolving, leaves a long-lasting pigmentary change. There may be several lesions. Here the causative agent was phenazone salicylate.
