Tazaroten in the Treatment of Psoriasis

Tazarotene appears to be effective in the treatment of psoriasis. Level of evidence: "B"

In a randomized controlled double-blind study 324 patients with plaque psoriasis were allocated into three groups: tazarotene gel 0.1%, tazarotene gel 0.05%, and vehicle 1. The duration of the study was 12 weeks. Both groups on active treatment did better than the vehicle group (p<0.001 with 0.1% gel, and p<0.05 with 0.05% gel).

Comment: The quality of evidence is downgraded by sparse data.
