  • Binds to GABAA receptors in brain, which decreases the firing rate of neurons and produces an inhibitory response.
Therapeutic effects:
  • Rapid onset/offset of sedation during/after procedure.

Absorption: IV administration results in complete bioavailability.

Half-Life: 37–53 min.
