  • Bactericidal action.

Absorption: Well absorbed after IM administration. Negligible absorption when administered orally.

Distribution: Widely distributed throughout extracellular fluid. Poor penetration into CSF.

Metabolism/Excretion: Excretion is >90% renal.

Half-Life: 2–4 hr ( in renal impairment).
