Extravasation
(Adults ): Within 10 min of extravasation, apply to a region covering twice the affected area every 8 hours for 7 days.

Explain the purpose and side effects of dimethyl sulfoxide. Advise patient to notify health care professional if symptoms worsen or if changes in symptoms occur. Advise patient to read Patient Information before starting and periodically during therapy in case of changes.
Inform patient that this drug may cause a garlic taste that can last for a few hours and a garlic odor to the breath/body that may persist up to 72 hr after drug administration.
