- ORTHODOX JEWS:
- Kosher meat and poultry.

- CONSERVATIVE AND REFORM JEWS: dietary practices may vary from religious laws.

- HINDUS: vegetarianism (cows are sacred).
- SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS:
- Vegetarianism is common (lacto-ovo).
- No shellfish or pork products.
- Avoid stimulants (coffee, tea, other caffeine sources).
- No alcohol.
- MORMONS (LATTER-DAY SAINTS [LDS]): no coffee, tea, or alcohol.
- CATHOLICS: some still adhere to meatless Fridays and fasting during Lent.
