This text can be used in early review when a longer study period is needed to fill in gaps of knowledge. One cannot remember something if one does not know or understand it. A lengthy review before the examination allows students time to rework and organize notes accumulated during 2 to 4 years of basic nursing education. In addition, an early review allows time for self-evaluation. We have provided questions and answers to help students identify areas requiring further study and to help them integrate unfamiliar material with what they already know.
