BMI = Weight / Height^2

  • Weight = Body weight in kg
  • Height = Height in M

The Body Mass Index ( BMI ) is a method of looking at appropriateness of body weight to height. The World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control have come out with the following definitions:

Interpretation

  • =>50 = "Super obese [Obese-Class 3]"
  • 40-49.99 = "Morbidly obese [Obese-Class 2]"
  • 35.0-39.99 = "Severely obese [Obese-Class 1]"
  • =>30-34.99 = "Obese"
  • =>25 = "Overweight"
  • 18.5-24.99 = "Normal weight"
  • <18.5 = "Underweight"
