Use/Common Side Effects (CSE)

• Use: Major depressive disorder; Off label: Panic disorder, GAD, PTSD
• CSE: Drowsiness, constipation, dry mouth, increased appetite, weight gain

Geriatric & Dose Considerations

• Lower dose; use cautiously w hepatic/renal disease

Assessment Cautions

• Contraindicated: Concurrent MAOI therapy; caution w hx seizures, suicide attempt. Closely monitor for suicidality/safety not determined in children, lactation, pregnancy. Periodic CBCs, LFTs.
