Use/Common Side Effects (CSE)

• Use: Anxiety, insomnia
  CSE: Dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy; rapid IV: APNEA, CARDIAC ARREST

Geriatric & Dose Considerations

• Dosage reduction; Caution: Hepatic/renal/pulmonary impairment; more susceptible to CNS effects and increased risk for falls

Assessment Cautions

• Contraindicated: Comatose or CNS depression, pregnancy, lactation, glaucoma. Caution: In hepatic/renal/pulmonary impairment/drug abuse
