Author Bio

Steven H. Lin, MD, PhD , is a physician-scientist at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center with a primary research interest focused on ways to enhance radiotherapy cure rates in thoracic cancers by employing the use of advanced radiation techniques to limit the exposure of normal tissue to reduce the morbidity of treatment. He has conducted numerous studies demonstrating the clinical benefit of advanced radiation technologies to improve survival outcomes in esophageal cancer, from large single institutional database analysis, to population data using SEER-Medicare, Texas Cancer Registry, and more recently the National Cancer Database. He also has a research interest in improving outcomes beyond standard chemoradiation approaches for locally advanced disease by systematically identifying novel agents to enhance radiation and chemo radiation effects in cancer cells.
