Remember Rounding

When rounding, remember that 5 is the magic number. Check the number to the right of the decimal place that will be rounded off. If that number is 5 or greater, then add 1 to the place. If it's less than 5, leave the number alone.

For example, round off the following numbers to the nearest hundredths:

• 6.447

• 2.992

• 4.119
