Immunizations for travel outside of the United States are recommended based on the patient’s health status and vaccine history, as well as the area(s) of travel. The presence of the risk of becoming ill from poor sanitary conditions, food and water sources, and endemic diseases is considered in the CDC’s recommendations for travel immunizations.
