Clinical Manifestations⬆⬇
Yellow-white to skin-colored, monomorphic tiny macules to slightly elevated papules on the nose, cheeks, and upper lips of full-term infants (Fig. 2.3).
Diagnosis⬆
Diagnosis is based on clinical recognition.
Differential Diagnosis
Milia (see later in this chapter)
Discrete, white, firm, tiny papules usually seen scattered on the face of a newborn.
Neonatal Cephalic Pustulosis (Neonatal Acne)
Variably sized pink papules and pustules typically found on the cheeks, chin, and forehead.
Management
Reassure parents this is a benign eruption.
Spontaneous resolution occurs within the first few months of life.
