Hypersensitivity;
Acute bronchospasm.

Use Cautiously in:

OB: Use during pregnancy only if potential maternal benefit justifies potential fetal risk;
Lactation: Use while breastfeeding only if potential maternal benefit justifies potential risk to infant;
Pedi: Safety and effectiveness not established in children.

Interleukin-5 (IL-5) antagonist that inhibits binding of IL-5 to the surface of the eosinophil, which reduces the production and survival of eosinophils.

Patient/Family Teaching ⬆ ⬇

Inform patient of risk and signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis. Instruct patient to notify health care professional immediately if signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis occur.
Inform patient that reslizumab does not treat acute asthma symptoms. Advise patient to notify health care professional if asthma remains uncontrolled or worsens after reslizumab therapy.
Counsel patient about the increased risk of malignancies in patients taking reslizumab.
Caution patient not to ↓ corticosteroid dose unless instructed by health care professional.
Rep: Advise females of reproductive potential to notify health care professional if pregnancy is planned or suspected or if breastfeeding.
