Explain purpose and side effects to patient. Instruct patient or caregiver to avoid oral contact and to avoid touching lesions after treatment. Avoid fire, flame, or smoking near lesions. Advise patient to read Patient Information before starting and periodically during therapy in case of changes.
Advise patient or caregiver to remove solution with soap and water 24 hr after treatment and to report if severe blistering, severe pain, or other severe adverse reactions occur.
Tell patient or caregiver that if solution gets into the eyes, flush eyes with water for ≥15 min and to report immediately.
Warn patient or caregiver to avoid use of other topical products (creams, lotions, or sunscreen) for 24 hr after treatment or until washing.
Advise patient to notify health care professional of all Rx or OTC medications, vitamins, or herbal products being taken and to consult health care professional before taking other medications.
