A.14. What are the signs and symptoms of hypovolemic shock?
Answer:
Tachycardia, hypotension, decreased capillary refill, reduced pulse pressure, pallor, cool extremities, low end-tidal CO2, agitation, and loss of consciousness are manifestations of life-threatening hypovolemic shock. With the exhaustion of the compensatory mechanism, hypotension tends to be a late finding; however, its absence does not rule out shock.
