- Positioning: HOB 30°–45° during and 30 min after feeding is complete to minimize risk of aspiration.
- Follow manufacturer/institutional guidelines regarding type of feeding and operation of tube feeding delivery system.
Confirm correct tube placement. (See Nasogastric Tube.)- Check residuals. (See Checking Residuals.)
- Begin tube feeding at prescribed rate/interval as ordered.
