The SedLine Brain Function monitor utilizes sensors (electrodes) placed on the patient's forehead to monitor levels of sedation based on a bilateral 4 channel electroencephalogram (EEG). The result is displayed as a patient state index (PSi), and the values range from 1% to 100%, relating to the effect of anesthetic agents.
