(FFP) is a blood component that contains all the factors involved in hemostasis (indicated for the treatment of coagulopathy secondary to congenital or acquired factor deficiencies). Adverse reactions in conjunction with limited prophylactic benefits and the high frequency of inappropriate use makes FFP arguably the riskiest blood component transfused (Table 16-8: Indications for the use of Fresh Frozen Plasma).
