Information

Pseudallescheriaboydii, Scedosporium apiospermum, and S. prolificans are molds that are angioinvasive, causing pneumonia and widespread dissemination with abscesses (including brain abscess) in immunocompromised hosts. Most disseminated infections are fatal. These organisms are resistant to AmB, echinocandins, and some azoles, but some infections have been cured with voriconazole.
